Armenogramm-Turkish publications (or Turkish written in Armenian script, or հայատառ թուրքերեն հրատարակություններ) refer to written works that were produced using the Armenian alphabet to write the Turkish language and are an important part of the cultural and historical tapestry of the Ottoman Empire. This hybrid literary tradition emerged primarily during the Ottoman Empire and reflects the region's multiethnic, multicultural, and multilingual dynamics. These publications served communities of Armenians living within the Ottoman Empire who spoke Turkish as their primary language but were literate in Armenian script. They were used for practical purposes like education, religious texts, newspapers, and literature. The cultural significance of these publications symbolizes the blending of Armenian and Ottoman cultures. They also highlight the role of Armenians as a prominent community contributing to Ottoman cultural and intellectual life.
The aim of the project “AVEDAPER” is to offer scholars studying Armenian history, and the interplay of language and identity, an Open Access platform, from which they can have access to the Armenogramm-Turkish publications․
